Here are some tried and true tips for brainstorming wedding favor ideas:
- Stay positive – Remember that above all else, a brainstorm and a wedding are both positives! Don’t get mired down in anything negative while brainstorming
- Get some help – It always helps to have at least a pair of sounding boards, but be sure that they’re on the same page with you when it comes to the brain storming rules.
- Rule out nothing – Never rule out an idea or think it is not worth saying. Even if the idea isn’t the best, it could very well make something click in your head or in the head of anyone else helping you brainstorm and you could miss a great idea!
- Short bursts – Don’t try brainstorming for more than 10 to 15 minutes at a time at first. If something is going to come, it’ll come in a short period of time.
- Focus on the wedding – Consider the wedding theme and draw from existing artistic elements that are already present in the wedding.
- Grab tons of catalogs – There is no such thing as too many catalogs when brainstorming. Remember that the catalogs don’t even have to be relevant to get the creative process moving.
- Forget the wedding – Maybe the reason that ideas are not cropping up left and right in the ol’ noodle is stress and too much focus. Go do something enjoyable and see if that does not get the creative energies flowing again! Perhaps it will lead to a discovery or an inspiration or you may suddenly connect a few previously unrelated dots.
